She dreams of another life where she lives upon a hill One she climbed all by herself She fell into a place where diversions could not save her – from the guilt she’s pilled away It all seems so absurd A thousand miles of “almost there” They say there’s life beyond the watershed A thousand miles to go and “almost there” So many years carved into her face She pulls her roots right up from the earth She burned her home to the ground All the things she’s ever owned she’s found - she just can’t lie anymore It all seems so absurd A thousand miles of “almost there” They say there’s life beyond the watershed A thousand miles to go and almost there A thousand miles to go A thousand miles to go A thousand miles to go and almost there She thinks she sees a ghost In the veil of smoke that rises - From all the things she’s sacrificed A thousand miles ago

Find Me 02:52
You’ll find me over at the bridge Beside the trembling hill Beneath the loyal, enduring sky That’s where you’ll find me Come and find me Find me Some things are holy If you listen close You will hear the subtitles Strung between the words Find me Burrowed deep inside Beyond the contradictions Beyond the hesitations Beyond the flood of fears We both sought the same I wonder if you know Can you hear my thoughts Come and find me Find me

They must have whispered in your ear The only way to be free Is to burn it down – your home is gone Glass is shattered where a window used to be When everywhere is all the same How can you know – from where you came Faith and hope a restless pair You call them ghosts they always reappear They’ve lived before, but they don’t know Born in the breath of a desert prayer You hold them close; they guide you To the parts buried deep inside you Haunting Kissed by a haunting Driving deep into the heart It’s the only place left to go Nothing to see - So much to hear You call them ghosts - You hold them close Kissed by a haunting

Adevah Lacuna Do you remember? Maya said, “follow me, whithersoever” Adevah Lacuna Do you remember? Maya said, “listen and you will hear” “Then you will see” “Then you will fall” “Then you will climb” Adevah Lacuna Do you remember? Maya said, “follow me, whithersoever” Adevah Lacuna Do you remember? Maya said, “a storm will come” “And the storm will swell” “And the storm will swell” “And the storm will swell” Adevah Lacuna Do you remember? Maya said, “follow me, whithersoever” Adevah Lacuna Do you remember? Maya said, “whithersoever, find me” “Whithersoever, find me” “Whithersoever, find me” “Whithersoever, find me”

Sandstorm gods have no shame Stir the winds withhold the rain Blur the lines between hope and faith While faintly mumbled prayers Linger in the desert air …alone on the steps of a porch The roof provides some shade from the baking sun Wipes away the sweat that pours down his neck Which is already red and summer’s just begun Sandstorm gods have no shame Stir the winds - withhold the rain Two weeks unshaven - why should he care No one to impress - he no longer tries Thinks of the one who drove him here Bathed him in light then hung him out to dry Sandstorm gods have no shame Stir the winds - withhold the rain Follows the thunder Wherever it goes One day a downpour will arrive And she will soothe the burning air In answer to a desert prayer Follows the thunder Wherever it goes One day a downpour will arrive And she will soothe the burning air In answer to a desert prayer And she will soothe the burning air Follows the thunder wherever it goes In answer to a desert prayer One day a downpour will arrive And she will soothe the burning air

about

Over the course of the past few years, I have found myself weaving in between various genres, including Americana-based rock, blues, jazz, ethereal, acoustic, and rhythm and groove psychedelia. The five songs that comprise Allegasi Gold are interrelated and touch on a few of those adventures. During this process, I’ve had the pleasure of discovering and working with some amazingly talented folks who all played crucial roles in turning this vague idea into an album.
